Eco datacenter loses court appeal over data center permit

The Land and Environment Court has rejected Eco datacenter's appeal. The permit for the planned data center in Hedemora will therefore be limited until 2040.

The Land and Environment Court at Nacka District Court has sided with the County Administrative Board of Dalarna. The court thereby rejects the company's appeal against the permit conditions.

Eco datacenter, or EcoDC, has argued that the time limit threatens the project's financing. The company submitted the appeal to have the conditions changed.

The court justifies the decision with the rapid technological development in the industry. The permit for the data center in Hedemora therefore applies only until 2040.
