Advogado pede que Tinubu declare estado de emergência habitacional devido aos aluguéis

O advogado de direitos humanos Deji Adeyanju escreveu uma carta aberta ao presidente Bola Tinubu em 27 de julho de 2026, solicitando a declaração de um estado de emergência no setor habitacional devido aos altos valores dos aluguéis que afetam os nigerianos.

Adeyanju descreveu essas práticas como exploratórias e defendeu limites, como o máximo de um ano de aluguel antecipado e taxas combinadas de agenciamento e jurídicas de 7,5 por cento do valor do aluguel anual.

Adeyanju propôs uma força-tarefa presidencial especial para redigir uma política habitacional nacional dentro de 90 dias, o zoneamento obrigatório para habitação de baixa renda em projetos urbanos e uma plataforma digital para que os inquilinos denunciem violações. Ele instou a aplicação de multas e sanções para proprietários e agentes que não cumprirem as normas.
