Typhoon Francisco strengthened to maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour on Monday morning while enhancing the southwest monsoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that as of 4 a.m. on Monday, June 22, the typhoon was located 715 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, and moving west-northwest at 30 km/h.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was raised over Batanes, the northeastern portion of Cagayan including Gonzaga and Santa Ana, and the eastern portion of the Babuyan Islands.

In Cebu, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will affect the province due to the habagat, with light to moderate rainfall possible over rivers and tributaries in Cotcot, Mananga, Guinabasan, Balamban, and Sapangdaku.

Francisco is the sixth tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in 2026. It is forecast to decelerate before recurving and exiting the PAR by Friday, June 26.
