Tropical Storm Domeng, also known as Jangmi, entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility early on Friday, May 29, 2026. The storm packs maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and is moving northwestward.
The storm was located 1,345 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon at 4 a.m. on Friday and was moving at 20 kilometers per hour. No wind signals have been raised over any part of the country.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Domeng is unlikely to directly affect the country in the next 24 hours. It may intensify into a severe tropical storm on Friday and a typhoon on Saturday.
Domeng will enhance the southwesterly windflow, bringing heavy rains to western portions of the country starting Sunday. Strong to gale-force gusts are expected in many areas beginning Saturday.
