Uppsala municipality scores high in business services survey

Uppsala municipality achieved an NKI of 75 in SKR and SBA's latest business services survey, a slight drop from 76 but above the national average. Procurement NUI rose to 65 from 60, now exceeding the average. The results indicate improvements but highlight areas for further development.

Sveriges Kommuner och Regioner (SKR) and Stockholm Business Alliance (SBA) surveyed companies' experiences with municipal services such as building permits, environmental protection, and procurement. Uppsala municipality's overall Customer Satisfaction Index (NKI) reached 75, above the national average of 74. The Procurement Satisfaction Index (NUI) improved to 65 from the average of 64, with gains across all service areas except one.

Helena Sköld Lövgren, procurement chief, credits the progress to enhanced dialogue via industry councils and advice. "It is very pleasing to see such clear development in procurement," she said. Municipal council chair Erik Pelling (S) stresses ongoing improvement efforts.

Strong areas include customer treatment and legal security, while site leasing fell to 74 below average and food control slightly under. Business director Charlotte Skott highlights the need for better listening: "We need to strengthen dialogue and quick responses."

Over the long term, NKI has risen from 61 in 2012 to 75. In total, 784 companies responded to the NKI survey and 257 to NUI.
