Wakaazi wa Bumula wazuia barabara ya Mumias-Bungoma kutoka kwa kumfukuzwa MP Wamboka na PIC

Wakaazi wenye hasira wa Bumula wamezuia barabara kuu ya Mumias-Bungoma leo Alhamisi wakipinga kumfukuzwa kwa MP wao Jack Wamboka kutoka kuwahimiza Kamati ya Bunge ya Uwekezaji wa Umma (PIC) juu ya utawala na elimu. Vitendo hivi vimesababisha kusitishwa kwa usafiri kati ya kaunti za Bungoma na Kakamega. Wapinzani wamedai serikali inawalenga wengine wanaopinga sera za Rais William Ruto.

Wakaazi wa Bumula walifunga barabara ya Mumias-Bungoma kwenye soko la Kabula wakitumia matairi yaliyowachomwa moto, mizizi ya miti, mawe makubwa na magogo ili kuzuia magari.

Video zilizoonwa na Kenyans.co.ke zinaonyesha moshi mnene ukipaa angani huku wapinzani wakipiga kelele na nyimbo za kupinga serikali kama "wantam".

Kupinzania huku kulikuja saa chache baada ya Bunge kumsimamisha MP Jack Wanami Wamboka kuwa mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Uwekezaji wa Umma juu ya utawala na elimu siku ya Jumatano, Aprili 22. Naibu Spika Gladys Shollei alisema, "Ili kulinda imani ya umma katika kazi ya Kamati ya Uwekezaji wa Umma juu ya utawala na elimu wakati wa uchunguzi, nimeshawishika kusimamisha Mheshimiwa Jack Wanami Wamboka kuwa mwenyekiti wa kamati wakati huo".

Malalamiko mengi yaliletwa na mashahidi waliotokea mbele ya kamati, wakiwemo Tume ya Ushirikiano wa Kitaifa na Uunganisho (NCIC) iliyopinga unyanyasaji, unyanyasaji na matumizi ya dharau dhidi ya maafisa wake. Tume ilidai Wamboka alidai rushwa ili kuwapa nafasi ya kuzingatiwa vizuri.

Baada ya kusimamishwa kwake, kiongozi wa upinzani Bungeti Junet Mohammed alipewa jukumu la kuteua mwenyekiti wa muda hadi Alhamisi, Aprili 23.
