Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru calls on motorists to submit NTSA fine evidence

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has invited motorists to provide evidence of payments for overspeeding fines made through the eCitizen platform. The former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ally says he will sue the National Transport and Safety Authority over alleged fraud in the instant fine system.

Njiru announced the move on Thursday, July 2. He asked motorists who have concerns about the payment process to preserve records including payment confirmations, transaction receipts, bank statements, screenshots and related correspondence.

The lawyer stated that the information will be reviewed to determine whether there is a sufficient basis for legal action, including proceedings before the High Court to seek recovery of funds that may have been wrongly paid.

The announcement comes amid ongoing controversy over payments allegedly directed to individual accounts rather than an official NTSA account. NTSA Director General Nashon Kondiwa said on June 30 that the system is legitimate and that receipts show the official account where funds are deposited.
