Ruto aagiza NTSA isitisha marufuku ya graffiti kwenye matatu

Rais William Ruto ameelekeza Mamlaka ya Kitaifa ya Usafiri na Usalama (NTSA) kusitisha mipango yake ya kuondoa michoro ya graffiti kwenye matatu. Agizo hilo linakuja baada ya Mahakama Kuu kuidhinisha amri ya awali ya mamlaka hiyo. Ruto alitoa maelezo hayo Ikulu ya Mombasa baada ya mazungumzo na wadau wa usafiri.

Rais Ruto alisema ameagiza NTSA kuweka mazingira yanayowaruhusu wamiliki wa matatu kuendelea kutumia michoro ya kisanii na graffiti kwa njia inayozingatia usalama.

Agizo la NTSA lilitolewa Mei 2025 likiwaamuru wamiliki kuondoa mapambo hayo pamoja na vioo vyeusi. Mnamo Aprili 29 2026 Mahakama Kuu ilitupilia mbali ombi la wamiliki wa matatu dhidi ya agizo hilo.

Ruto alionyesha kutoridhishwa na hatua hiyo na kusema wamiliki walimweleza kuwa wameambiwa kuondoa graffiti. NTSA ilitetea agizo lake kwa misingi ya usalama wa barabara.
