Motorists with physical logbooks need duplicates for eLogbooks, NTSA says

The National Transport and Safety Authority has told motorists with old physical logbooks that they must first apply for duplicates before they can download the new electronic versions.

The authority issued the clarification on 23 June after vehicle owners reported error messages when trying to access documents through the portal.

NTSA stated that the download option was unavailable because the motorists already held existing logbooks. It advised them to apply for a duplicate to receive the eLogbook.

The digital system was launched on 10 June. Physical logbooks remain valid registration documents, and the authority has urged owners to keep them safely. Vehicle ownership transfers under the new system take one working day, and the digital logbook can be downloaded multiple times.
