وقّعت مصر اتفاقية لتجديد استضافة مكتب منطقة الشرق الأوسط التابع لمنظمة الطيران المدني الدولي (ICAO). أشاد الأمين العام خوان كارلوس سالازار بدعم مصر النشط لأنشطة المنظمة. يُعد المكتب في القاهرة من أهم مكاتب ICAO عالمياً.

وقّعت مصر اتفاقية تجديد استضافة مكتب منطقة الشرق الأوسط لمنظمة الطيران المدني الدولي (ICAO)، مما يعزز دورها كمركز رئيسي للتعاون الجوي في المنطقة.

أعرب الأمين العام خوان كارلوس سالازار عن تقديره لدعم مصر النشط، مشيراً إلى أن المكتب القاهري يلعب دوراً مركزياً في تنفيذ البرامج وتقديم المساعدة الفنية للدول الأعضاء. وأضاف أن المكتب يساهم في تعزيز معايير السلامة الجوية، وتحسين الكفاءة التشغيلية، وتقليل التأثير البيئي للنقل الجوي.

وفقاً لمركز معلومات مجلس الوزراء المصري، تستضيف مصر المكتب منذ عام 1953، وهو أحد سبعة مكاتب إقليمية لـICAO حول العالم، ويخدم 15 دولة عضو في الشرق الأوسط.

يلعب المكتب دوراً رئيسياً في تقديم الدعم الفني وبناء القدرات وتوجيه السياسات، مع التركيز على السلامة الجوية والكفاءة التشغيلية والاستدامة والابتكار في الطيران المدني. يعكس تجديد الاتفاقية الثقة المستمرة في قدرات مصر ودورها القيادي الإقليمي.
