أعلنت الحكومة الكينية عن إجراء إلزامي للتحقق البيومتري لجميع مستفيدي برنامج التحويلات النقدية "إينوا جاميي" (Inua Jamii). تستهدف هذه الخطوة أكثر من 1.7 مليون مواطن كيني من الفئات الهشة الذين يتلقون مخصصات شهرية بقيمة 2000 شلن كيني، وتهدف إلى التأكد من استحقاقهم وإزالة المستفيدين الوهميين من النظام.

أطلقت وزارة العمل عملية "إثبات الحياة" في 13 مايو 2026. وصرح سكرتير وزارة العمل، جوزيف موتاري، بأن المبادرة ستستخدم تقنية التعرف على بصمات الأصابع والوجه للتحقق من أن المستفيدين ومقدمي الرعاية على قيد الحياة ومستحقون للدعم. سيبدأ التحقق في جميع المقاطعات في الفترة من 1 يونيو إلى 31 يوليو 2026. يجب على المستفيدين الحضور إلى المراكز المحددة مصطحبين بطاقات هويتهم الوطنية، بينما يتعين على القائمين برعاية غير القادرين على السفر التواصل مع مسؤولي الحماية الاجتماعية المحليين. وحذر موتاري من أن عدم المشاركة قد يؤدي إلى تأخير أو تعليق المدفوعات. ويدعم برنامج "إينوا جاميي" كبار السن والأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة وغيرهم من الفئات الهشة من خلال تحويلات نقدية شهرية.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has clarified that not all voters registered before 2012 must re-register.
