McLaren reverted to its previous front wing specification ahead of sprint qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix after both drivers reported a lack of confidence with the new version.
McLaren introduced the second phase of its Miami upgrade package in Montreal, which included a new front wing along with a new engine cover, revised rear suspension fairings and changes to the floor edges. Lando Norris started practice with the updated wing while Oscar Piastri began with the prior specification before switching later in the session. Neither driver felt comfortable with the new component, leading the team to revert to the older version for the remainder of the weekend under parc fermé conditions.
