تعمل وزارة الشؤون الدينية على إعداد محتوى تعليمي لمنع انتشار سلوكيات مجتمع الميم بما يتماشى مع اللائحة الرئاسية رقم 111 لعام 2025. وتأتي هذه الخطوة في ظل النظر إلى هذه القضية كتهديد غير عسكري للأمن القومي.

صرح نائب الوزير رومو محمد شافعي في جاكرتا يوم الإثنين بأن على الوزارة اتخاذ موقف واضح بشأن قضايا مجتمع الميم لأنها تمس القيم الدينية، وكرامة الإنسان، والتعليم، والقدرة على الصمود الوطني. وقال إنه ناقش الأمر مع زعماء دينيين من مختلف الطوائف، وقد اتفقوا جميعا على أن سلوكيات مجتمع الميم غير مقبولة في تعاليمهم. ووفقا لشافعي، يجب أن تظل السياسات ضمن إطار مبادئ "بانشاسيلا" ودستور عام 1945، حيث يشكل المبدأ الأول من "بانشاسيلا" المتعلق بالإيمان بإله واحد الأساس الرئيسي لذلك.
