أكد رئيس الوزراء آبي أحمد للصحفيين ضرورة معرفتهم بكيفية الالتزام بمهنتهم وبالقانون، وذلك خلال حديثه في منتدى إعلامي بالعاصمة أديس أبابا.

خاطب رئيس الوزراء آبي أحمد منتدى عُقد تحت شعار النهوض بالإعلام من أجل بناء السرديات.

واستعرض آبي أحمد الخطوات التي اتُخذت عقب إصلاحات عام 2018 لتعزيز حرية الإعلام، بما في ذلك إطلاق سراح الصحفيين المسجونين، وإعادة فتح المؤسسات المغلقة، والسماح لوسائل الإعلام والصحفيين المحظورين بالعودة، وتعديل القوانين المقيدة للحريات.

ومع ذلك، أشار رئيس الوزراء إلى ظهور مشكلات نتيجة فشل بعض الصحفيين في إدارة حريتهم بشكل سليم، وصعوبة دخول البعض الآخر إلى هذا القطاع بعد انفتاح المشهد الإعلامي.

وشدد رئيس الوزراء على أن الصحفيين يجب أن يدركوا كيفية الالتزام بمهنتهم وبأحكام القانون في آن واحد.
