SIC and ANATO agree on roadmap against tourist fraud

Superintendent of Industry and Commerce Cielo Rusinque met with ANATO president Paula Cortés Calle to strengthen protection for travelers against identity theft of travel agencies.

The meeting took place on June 10, 2026, in Cali. The officials analyzed cybercrime risks that affect legal agencies and consumers. Rusinque noted that tourism is a strategic sector for the national government. She stressed the need for oversight to protect user rights and promote fair markets. Cortés Calle said traveler security is a non-negotiable priority. She added that both entities will share tools to prevent fraud and educate the public. As a result, they set a roadmap to improve complaint channels and run awareness campaigns to help verify official agencies.
