وصل نظام ZephyrIoT إلى المدار للمرة الثانية. فقد أطلقت شركتا Antmicro وAethero نظام التشغيل مفتوح المصدر في الوقت الفعلي على متن قمر صناعي من نوع CubeSat ضمن رحلة مشتركة لصاروخ Falcon 9 التابع لشركة SpaceX في مارس 2026.

يعمل الآن النظام مفتوح المصدر للتشغيل في الوقت الفعلي (RTOS)، المستخدم في الأنظمة المدمجة الحيوية على كوكب الأرض، في الفضاء. تدعم Antmicro حواسيب الفضاء من الجيل التالي التابعة لشركة Aethero، وذلك من خلال حواسيب على متن المركبة يتم التحكم فيها بواسطة نظام Zephyr ومبنية حول منصات الذكاء الاصطناعي الطرفي NVIDIA Jetson Orin وThor. وقد مثّل إطلاق القمر الصناعي CubeSat أحدث عملية نشر لهذه التكنولوجيا خارج سطح الأرض.

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman told lawmakers that SpaceX and Blue Origin expect their lunar landers to be ready for the Artemis III mission in late 2027.
