KNDS udvider produktionen af Boxer i München-Allach

Producenten af pansrede køretøjer, KNDS, har præsenteret udvidelsen af produktionen af Boxer-hjulbårne kampvogne på hovedfabrikken i München-Allach. Det markerer den første serieproduktion siden Den Kolde Krigs afslutning. Administrerende direktør Florian Hohenwarter planlægger yderligere kapacitetsudvidelser med henblik på potentielle store ordrer fra Bundeswehr.

KNDS Germany præsenterede onsdag produktionsudvidelsen af Boxer-hjulbårne kampvogne i München-Allach. Bundeswehr kan potentielt bestille op mod 3.000 køretøjer, selvom de præcise tal endnu ikke er bekræftet.

Florian Hohenwarter, administrerende direktør for KNDS Germany, indfører principper fra bilindustrien. Til Boxer-ordren samarbejder KNDS for første gang med den store leverandør Dräxlmaier, som bygger udskiftelige missionsmoduler på egen fabrik. Dette muliggør en betydelig stigning i produktionen på hovedanlægget.

Hohenwarter planlægger yderligere industriel kapacitet. "Vi får brug for yderligere industriel kapacitet til Boxer-produktionen," sagde han i et interview med Handelsblatt. At bygge en ny fabrik ville tage for lang tid.

I stedet foretrækker han eksisterende lokaliteter. "Det går meget hurtigere med en eksisterende industriel lokation," forklarede Hohenwarter. "Et velsmurt team, for eksempel fra bilindustrien, ville være ideelt. Vi er i dialog om det."
