Hunderte Trauernde versammelten sich im Dorf Bevhula bei Malamulele in Limpopo, um den Xitsonga-Musiker Kenny Bevhula beizusetzen. Der 53-Jährige verstarb vergangene Woche nach einem Kampf gegen Blasenkrebs. Familienmitglieder würdigten sein bleibendes musikalisches Vermächtnis.

Kenny Bevhula, ein bedeutender Xitsonga-Musiker, wurde am Samstag im Dorf Bevhula bei Malamulele in der Provinz Limpopo beigesetzt.

Er verstarb am 20. April im Alter von 53 Jahren nach einem Kampf gegen Blasenkrebs, wie SABC News berichtete.

Hunderte Menschen nahmen an der Beerdigung teil, darunter Künstlerkollegen, Fans und Mitglieder der örtlichen Gemeinschaft, um ihm einen würdigen Abschied zu bereiten.

Familiensprecher Tiyiselani Bevhula erklärte: „Unser Bruder hat ein bleibendes musikalisches Erbe hinterlassen, das wir als Familie und die Nation als Ganzes genießen. Seine Musik wird noch lange nach seinem Tod weiterleben.“
