Williams verpflichtet Führungskräfte von McLaren, Mercedes und Alpine

Williams hat vier hochrangige Persönlichkeiten von konkurrierenden Formel-1-Teams rekrutiert, um seine technischen und operativen Fähigkeiten zu stärken.

Das Team gab die Ernennungen am Donnerstag bekannt. Piers Thynne, der bis Anfang dieses Jahres als Chief Operating Officer von McLaren tätig war, wird im August als Chief Optimisation and Planning Officer zum Team stoßen. Er wird sich auf die Optimierung von Prozessen und die Einführung fortschrittlicher Technologien wie Robotik und KI konzentrieren.

He will be replaced by Jonathan Wheatley, Audi's team principal of just one year, as the team grapples with its new Honda power unit's failures under 2026 regulations. This marks the fifth leadership change since Aston Martin entered F1 in 2021.

Williams has hired former Mercedes Formula 1 engineer Dan Milner as chief engineer of vehicle technology to lead car development programs. Milner spent 14 years at Mercedes, most recently as chief engineer of research and development. He starts at Williams after gardening leave since January.
