Muere corneado el ganadero Santiago Barrero San Román en Beas de Segura

El ganadero Santiago Barrero San Román, de 33 años, falleció el viernes por la tarde en Beas de Segura (Jaén) tras ser corneado por un toro durante los festejos de toros ensogados de San Marcos.

Santiago Barrero San Román, propietario de la ganadería Toros de San Román junto a su esposa Vanesa, resultó herido grave alrededor de las 19:00 horas cuando un toro lo embistió durante los toros ensogados, declarados Fiestas de Interés Turístico de Andalucía.

Las heridas abdominales, inguinales y torácicas fueron tan severas que, pese a la intervención urgente en la enfermería de la explanada de San Marcos, el equipo médico no pudo estabilizarlo. Falleció cerca de las 20:00 horas mientras intentaban trasladarlo a un hospital, según informaron la Hermandad de San Marcos y el Ayuntamiento de Beas de Segura.

La Asociación de Ganaderías de Lidia lamentó la pérdida en redes sociales: “Lamentamos profundamente comunicar la triste pérdida de nuestro joven ganadero Santiago Barrero San Román, fallecido hoy 24 de abril tras una cornada mortal en Beas de Segura”. La Asociación El Toro de Madrid también expresó condolencias a la familia.

Barrero era nieto del criador Antonio San Román y había fundado su ganadería en 2022 con reses de procedencia Torrestrella en Villamanrique (Ciudad Real). Los festejos del viernes se suspendieron, pero el sábado continuará con un minuto de silencio en su memoria.
