Congreso aprueba extensión de 30 días del estado de excepción en la Macrozona Sur

El Congreso chileno aprobó este martes una prórroga de 30 días del estado de excepción constitucional para la región de La Araucanía y las provincias de Arauco y Biobío.

La Cámara de Diputados respaldó la medida con 118 votos a favor, 17 en contra y 11 abstenciones. Posteriormente el Senado la ratificó por 39 votos a favor y 2 en contra.

El ministro del Interior Claudio Alvarado defendió la extensión ante los parlamentarios y señaló que los hechos de violencia rural han caído un 79% desde 2021. “Esto marca la diferencia que se genera cuando un territorio está capturado por la violencia versus un territorio que vuelve paso a paso a estar bajo el control de Estado”, explicó.

Varios senadores de distintos partidos expresaron su apoyo a la prórroga, aunque algunos pidieron avanzar en medidas complementarias como reparaciones a víctimas y el plan Buen Vivir. Los votos en contra provinieron de legisladores del Frente Amplio.
