Las madres pueden recibir automáticamente la custodia de los hijos de hasta siete años, pero la custodia puede otorgarse al padre si se considera que la madre no es apta. Añadió que el Departamento de Justicia ha aumentado el número de abogados en la Oficina de Defensa Pública para ayudar a quienes no pueden pagar una representación legal.
