Consejo regional de Arica aprueba fondos para iniciar erradicación en Cerro Chuño

El Consejo Regional de Arica y Parinacota aprobó una inversión de 3.292 millones de pesos para iniciar la erradicación de la toma en el Cerro Chuño. La medida busca demoler fundaciones de 220 viviendas en una primera etapa.

En una sesión extraordinaria celebrada este miércoles, el Consejo Regional de Arica y Parinacota aprobó por nueve votos a favor, cuatro en contra y dos abstenciones destinar 3.292 millones de pesos al inicio del plan. La propuesta presentada por el gobernador Diego Paco contempla la demolición de fundaciones en cinco manzanas del Cerro Chuño, lo que afectará a 220 moradas.

El plan completo en cuatro etapas requerirá 10.000 millones de pesos, con el resto de los fondos a cargo del gobierno central. Paco destacó que esta acción responde a una demanda de la comunidad y señaló que el gobierno anterior no demolió ninguna casa.

Durante esta fase inicial se desalojará a unas 700 personas, de las cuales el 74 por ciento son extranjeras. El delegado presidencial regional Cristian Sayes explicó que el proceso contará con el acompañamiento del Instituto Nacional de Derechos Humanos, la Defensoría de la Niñez y la Contraloría para garantizar una gestión adecuada.
