La secretaría de salud del estado de Rio Grande do Sul investiga una posible infección de ébola en un hombre de 64 años que regresó de Uganda. El paciente dio positivo en malaria y permanece bajo observación en Porto Alegre.

El hombre buscó atención en una unidad de salud en Novo Hamburgo. Dada la presentación clínica y el historial de viajes, las autoridades activaron el protocolo nacional para casos sospechosos de ébola.

El paciente fue trasladado al Grupo Hospitalar Conceição en Porto Alegre. Se enviaron muestras a Fiocruz para su análisis de laboratorio, lo cual determinará si se puede descartar el diagnóstico de ébola.
