World Dagachi platform expands services for foreign residents

Kwon Hae-suk, CEO of World Dagachi, hopes its Dagachi AI multilingual communication platform will provide foreign residents in Korea with easy access to information on jobs, housing, visas and daily life. The platform recently signed a strategic partnership with Shinhan Bank to enhance foreign-friendly financial services. The mobile app- and web-based service is available in 16 languages, including English, Chinese and Vietnamese.

Kwon Hae-suk, CEO of World Dagachi, which operates the Dagachi AI multilingual communication platform, stated that the platform aims to improve access for foreign students and workers in Korea by delivering useful information and knowledge in an easy and understandable way. "Our goal is to improve access for foreign students and workers in Korea, delivering useful information and knowledge in an easy and understandable way," he said. He added that the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding with Shinhan Bank will go a long way toward advancing that goal.

On February 10, at Shinhan Bank's headquarters in Seoul, the two firms signed a strategic partnership to strengthen financial services for foreign residents and better meet the growing demand for foreign-friendly banking services. Under the agreement, they will expand the bank's foreign customer base and enhance service quality by linking financial services with everyday living support platforms used by foreign residents, migrant workers and international students in Korea. The sides plan to roll out app- and web-based services for them, run joint promotional advertising pages on their respective platforms, and collaborate to attract more foreign users by combining financial and lifestyle support services.

"With this partnership, our users will be able to access not only daily life services but also Shinhan Bank’s financial services more conveniently," Kwon said.

World Dagachi currently operates six overseas hub centers in five countries—Indonesia, Vietnam, Nepal, the Philippines and Japan—and plans to increase the number to 50 by the end of this year. The languages available on the platform will be increased to 19 by the end of this month. According to the company, its most active user bases are in Indonesian, Nepali and Vietnamese language communities. The platform is popular with students in Surabaya, Indonesia’s second-largest city with a population of around 3 million and a sister city of Busan.

The company is forming partnerships with overseas institutions and universities as part of its global outreach strategy, including Petra Christian University in Surabaya, Indonesia, and Dhyana Pura University in Bali. "We will continue to offer practical information needed for life outside campus, including guidance on health care, housing, employment and administrative services," he said. The company plans to sign agreements with 100 universities worldwide this year, including more than 30 institutions in Southeast Asia.
