Inanunsyo ng Philippine Air Force na natapos na ang konstruksyon at pagpapahusay ng mga pasilidad sa Pag-asa Island sa West Philippine Sea upang mapalakas ang presensya at kakayahan nito. Kasama sa mga istraktura ang bagong hangar at mas magandang runway para sa mas madaling pag-land at pag-take off ng mga air assets.

Inanunsyo ng Philippine Air Force kahapon ang pagkumpleto ng mga bagong pasilidad sa Pag-asa Island sa West Philippine Sea. Kasama rito ang bagong hangar at pinahusay na runway na nagpapadali sa operasyon ng mga eroplano.

Ininaugurate ang Basing Support System sa ilalim ng Pag-asa Island Project noong Huwebes sa isang seremonya na pinamunuan ni Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura, ang commanding general ng PAF.

Ayon kay Cordura, "The project marked the completion of key basing support infrastructure and facilities designed to enhance air operations in the area, strengthening the PAF’s capability to sustain operations and support strategic infrastructure in the West Philippine Sea."

Iginiit niya rin na natugunan na ang mga kondisyon na dating humihigil sa operational tempo, na nagbibigay-daan sa mas maaasahang suporta sa mga misyon.

Ipinatupad ang proyekto sa malapit na koordinasyon sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, MAMSAR Construction Corp., at local government unit ng Palawan.
