Si Sonny Angara, nagtalaga kay Karol Mark Yee bilang special adviser ng DepEd

Si Yee, na executive director ng Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2), ay tutulungan sa pagpapatupad ng Learning System Strand ng ahensya.

Kasama sa kanyang mga gawain ang pagbibigay ng technical advice at strategic policy inputs sa education reform at workforce development. Makikiisa siya sa inter-agency meetings at workshops, at tutulong sa pagre-review ng mga policy directions, roadmaps, at programs.

Ayon kay Angara, hindi kasama sa kapangyarihan ni Dr. Yee ang operational decision-making, procurement, financial management, o administrative supervision sa loob ng DepEd. Walang karapatan si Yee sa honoraria o compensation mula sa ahensya.

Ang EDCOM 2 ay nagsusulong ng mga reporma upang baligtarin ang education crisis sa bansa. Noong March 4, pinirmahan ni President Marcos ang Republic Act 12315 na nag-extend ng buhay ng komisyon ng dalawang taon.
