Sa Manila, nagpahayag ang Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) na naaprubahan ng Economy and Development (ED) Council, na pinamumunuan ni Pangulong Marcos, ang pagbabago mula sa four-quarter patungo sa trimester system sa kanilang pagpupulong kahapon. Sinabi ni ACT chairperson Ruby Bernardo, 'They said consultation was needed, but in the end, it was still implemented in a hurry. Where is the voice of the average teacher in this decision?' Dagdag niya, hindi ito tutugon sa mga problema tulad ng kakulangan ng silid-aralan, mababang sahod, at labis na workload. Hinihiling ng ACT na ihinto muna ang pagpapatupad at magsagawa ng tunay na konsultasyon.
