Le développeur d'Eve Online devient Fenris Creations et signe un accord avec DeepMind

CCP Games s'est séparé de Pearl Abyss pour opérer de manière indépendante sous le nom de Fenris Creations. Ce changement de marque coïncide avec un partenariat de recherche de 120 millions de dollars conclu avec Google DeepMind afin de faire progresser l'IA en utilisant l'univers d'Eve Online.

Le développeur à l'origine du MMO spatial de longue date a annoncé cette transition vendredi, quelques jours après la révélation initiale du partenariat par DeepMind. La direction et les investisseurs, dont Google, contrôlent désormais le studio. Selon l'entreprise, cette structure vise à soutenir la prise de décision pour les mondes en ligne persistants et les opérations de jeu à long terme. Ce partenariat permettra à DeepMind d'étudier le comportement des joueurs sur des serveurs hors ligne isolés, sans affecter le jeu en direct.
