Le directeur de la Junaeb écarte toute coupe dans le programme d'alimentation scolaire

Fernando Peña, directeur national de la Junte nationale d'aide scolaire et de bourses (Junaeb), a écarté lundi toute interruption du Programme d'alimentation scolaire (PAE). Cette déclaration fait suite à une note du ministère des Finances suggérant un examen de 15 initiatives du ministère de l'Éducation, dont le PAE, pour le budget 2027. M. Peña a rencontré les représentants de 12 fédérations de personnel de restauration pour aborder la question.

Vendredi dernier, le ministère des Finances a envoyé une note à tous les ministères dressant la liste des programmes à examiner ou à interrompre pour le budget 2027. Pour le ministère de l'Éducation, qui supervise la Junaeb, 15 initiatives ont été mentionnées, dont le PAE, suscitant les critiques de l'opposition.

Les responsables de l'exécutif avaient déjà exclu la fin du programme. Lundi, Fernando Peña a souligné : « Les bénéficiaires du PAE continueront à recevoir leurs repas normalement, sans interruption. » Lors de la réunion avec les fédérations, il a déclaré : « La continuité de ce programme n'est pas menacée », précisant qu'il sert près de 1,6 million d'élèves quotidiennement avec près de quatre millions de rations à l'échelle nationale.

M. Peña a également profité de cette réunion pour discuter des améliorations à apporter à l'alimentation scolaire, visant un service plus efficace et de meilleure qualité.
