Steam a rejeté le futur visual novel d'horreur japonais This Game Is Not Real de sa plateforme. Le développeur Viv a annoncé ce changement après que le jeu n'a pas répondu aux critères de distribution de Valve. Le titre avait accumulé 24 000 listes de souhaits depuis le lancement de sa page de magasin en août 2025.

L'équipe indépendante à l'origine du jeu, connue sous le nom de Viv, a déclaré le 13 mai qu'elle déplacerait ses plans de sortie vers DLsite et BOOTH. Le développeur Bibu a indiqué que cette décision faisait suite à la détermination de Steam selon laquelle le projet ne respectait pas les normes de la plateforme. Le jeu était initialement prévu pour une sortie sur Steam ce mois-ci.
