Indonesia memulai ekspor pupuk urea ke Australia melalui skema kerja sama pemerintah. Nilai keseluruhan komitmen mencapai Rp7 triliun dengan pengiriman perdana 47.250 ton. Harga pupuk bersubsidi dalam negeri turun 20 persen.

Menteri Pertanian Andi Amran Sulaiman melepas ekspor perdana pupuk urea PT Pupuk Indonesia melalui PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur di Pelabuhan Bontang, Kalimantan Timur pada Kamis 14 Mei 2026. Pengiriman pertama mencapai 47.250 ton senilai Rp600 miliar dan merupakan bagian dari komitmen 250.000 ton yang akan ditingkatkan hingga 500.000 ton.

Amran menyatakan kebijakan Presiden Prabowo Subianto berhasil menurunkan harga pupuk bersubsidi 20 persen tanpa menambah beban APBN. Volume pupuk subsidi juga ditambah 700 ribu ton untuk memperluas akses petani. Ia menyebut langkah ini membawa kebahagiaan bagi 160 juta petani Indonesia termasuk 115 juta petani padi.

Wakil Duta Besar Australia untuk Indonesia Gita Kamath menyampaikan apresiasi atas kerja sama yang memperkuat ketahanan pangan kedua negara. Pupuk tersebut akan membantu petani Australia memproduksi gandum yang kemudian digunakan di Indonesia. Pemerintah Indonesia selanjutnya menargetkan pasar ekspor ke India, Filipina, Brasil, dan Bangladesh.
