Gavana Barchok ahukumiwa kifungo cha mwezi mmoja jela

Mahakama ya Nakuru imemhukumu Gavana wa Bomet Prof. Hillary Barchok na maafisa wengine 10 kifungo cha mwezi mmoja jela kwa kudharau amri ya mahakama.

Uamuzi huo ulitolewa Jumatano Juni 18 baada ya viongozi hao kushindwa kuwarejesha kazini wafanyakazi 30 ambao mikataba yao ilisitishwa kinyume cha sheria. Mahakama iliamuru wafungwe katika Gereza la Serikali la Nakuru hadi watakapotekeleza amri hiyo.

Gavana Barchok hakukamatwa na aliendelea na majukumu yake rasmi ikiwa ni pamoja na ukaguzi wa miradi ya barabara. Alitangaza nia yake ya kugombea kiti cha Seneta wa Kaunti ya Bomet chini ya UDA katika uchaguzi wa 2027.

Hii si mara ya kwanza gavana huyo kukabiliana na mashtaka ya mahakama baada ya kukabiliwa na mashtaka ya ufisadi mwaka 2025.
