Mamlaka ya NYOTA imetoa taarifa ikiwataka vijana elfu nyingi ambao wamehitimisha mafunzo ya On-the-Job Experience katika kaunti 13 kuchagua upya ustadi wao. Hii inahusu waliohitimisha mafunzo ya Socio-Emotional Skills Development katika Lots 1 na 2. Waliohusika wanaweza kufanya hivyo kwa kupiga *254#.

Tarehe 30 Aprili 2026, National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) ilitoa taarifa ya umma ikiwataka waliohitimisha mafunzo ya On-the-Job Experience (OJE) kuchagua upya ustadi wao. Hii inaathiri vijana katika kaunti 13, ikiwa ni pamoja na Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Hombay, Kisii, Nyamira, Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega, Kisumu, Migori, Siaya na Vihiga.

"Lot 1 na Lot 2 beneficiaries who have undertaken SESD training, here is your opportunity to revise your skill selection," ilisema taarifa hiyo. Baada ya kuchagua upya, waliohusika wanashauriwa kusubiri maagizo zaidi kupitia SMS kutoka nambari rasmi.

Mafunzo ya OJE yalimalizika hivi karibuni, na kila mwanafunzi alipokea posho ya Ksh 6,000 kwa mwezi kwa miezi sita. Programu hii inalenga vijana zaidi ya 90,000 wenye umri wa miaka 18 hadi 29 nchini kote, ikitoa mafunzo ya uanithi, vyeti, ustadi wa vitendo na ushauri.

Kulingana na NYOTA, kuchagua upya ustadi kunasaidia kuboresha uwezo wa ajira, kuongeza tija mahali pa kazi, kupunguza kutofautiana kati ya mahitaji ya soko la ajira na talanta inayopatikana, na kusaidia ukuaji endelevu wa kazi. OJE ni sehemu ya mpango wa serikali wa Ksh 33 bilioni kuunga mkono vijana zaidi ya 800,000 wenye hatari nchini kote kwa ustadi, ushauri na mtaji wa kuanzisha biashara katika miaka mitano ijayo.
