Biashara za wanawake zinapata asilimia 58 ya zabuni za serikali

Biashara za wanawake zimenufaika na asilimia 58.3 ya zabuni za serikali chini ya mpango wa AGPO mwaka wa kifedha ulioisha Juni 2025. Takwimu kutoka PPRA zinaonyesha kandarasi zenye thamani ya Sh33.1 bilioni kutoka jumla ya Sh56.8 bilioni. Hata hivyo, washikadau wanasema mchango bado haujafikia malengo ya sheria.

Takwimu kutoka Mamlaka ya Kudhibiti Utoaji Zabuni katika Sekta ya Umma (PPRA) na Hazina Kuu ya Kifedha zinaonyesha kuwa biashara za wanawake zilipata kandarasi zenye thamani ya Sh33.1 bilioni mwaka wa kifedha uliomalizika Juni 2025. Hii inawakilisha asilimia 58.3 ya Sh56.8 bilioni zilizotolewa chini ya mpango wa serikali wa utoaji zabuni maarufu kama AGPO.

Shirika la Women Kenya limesema takwimu hizo zinastahili kuwa zaidi, kwani wanawake wanapokea asilimia 18.1 pekee ya nafasi za mipango ya AGPO. Hii iko chini ya asilimia 30 iliyotengwa kwa wanawake chini ya Sheria za Utoaji Zabuni kwa Umma mnamo 2015.

Mwenyekiti wa Taasisi ya Udhibiti na Usambazaji Bidhaa (KIMS) Jennifer Cirindi Njiru alisikitika kuwa japo wanawake ni zaidi ya nusu wanaofanya kazi katika sekta ya zabuni, chini ya asilimia 20 wanashikilia vyeo vya ngazi ya juu. Aliongea kwenye kongamano la Mombasa na kuwataka washikadau washirikisha wanawake katika utekelezaji wa sera.

Kongamano jingine la kiuchumi la wanawake, SHEconomy, litafanyika Mei 28-29 Nairobi, na kuhudhuriwa na zaidi ya wanawake 1,000. Mwanzilishi wa Kampuni ya Recolte Betty Karimi, mwenyeji wa kongamano, alisema: “Tupo katika wakati ambapo masuala ya uchumi sasa yanachukua mkondo mpya. Sisi ndio nguzo wa uchumi na wanawake ndio wataleta mageuzi haya.”
