Exministros advierten sobreexpectativas con proyecto Escuelas Protegidas

Los exministros de Educación Nicolás Cataldo y Raúl Figueroa analizaron el proyecto Escuelas Protegidas, aprobado recientemente por el Senado y ahora en tercer trámite.

En una conversación con el programa Desde La Redacción de La Tercera, ambos exautoridades coincidieron en la necesidad de abordar la violencia en escuelas, pero alertaron sobre posibles frustraciones si se generan expectativas excesivas.

Cataldo señaló que la evidencia internacional sobre la revisión de mochilas no es concluyente y puede generar sensaciones de criminalización. Figueroa añadió que esta medida ya estaba contemplada en la ley de Convivencia Escolar.

Respecto a la pérdida de gratuidad por cinco años para condenados por violencia, Figueroa apoyó la medida como una señal clara de consecuencias. Cataldo expresó dudas sobre su efectividad para cambiar conductas, citando el caso de Aula Segura.

Los exministros también discutieron la existencia de políticas de Estado en educación y la tendencia a politizar el sistema.
