Superfinanciera fija tasa de usura en 28,17% para mayo

La Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia anunció que la tasa de usura para mayo será del 28,17%, un aumento de 1,41 puntos porcentuales respecto a abril. Esta tasa actúa como límite máximo para los intereses de tarjetas de crédito. Banco Unión y Coltefinanciera registran las tasas más cercanas al tope.

La Superintendencia Financiera informó que la tasa de usura, que regirá desde el 1 de mayo, se ubica en 28,17%. Este valor representa un alza frente al 26,76% de abril y sirve como tope para los intereses en tarjetas de crédito.

Según el reporte con corte al 17 de abril, las tasas ponderadas de tarjetas de crédito oscilan entre 26,67% y 18,37%. Banco Unión lidera con 26,67%, seguido de Coltefinanciera (26,45%), Banco Falabella (26,17%) y Banco Popular (25,99%). En el extremo opuesto, Coopcentral ofrece 18,37%, Banco de Occidente 21,3%, Itaú 21,19%, Banagrario 21,93% y AV Villas 22,70%.

David Cubides, economista jefe de Banco de Occidente, explicó que “la tasa de usura está estrechamente ligada al interés bancario corriente y, en general, refleja las condiciones de crédito en la economía. En la medida en que las tasas del Banco Central se han venido ajustando, es de esperar que esto también se refleje en el mediano plazo”.

Camilo Pérez, jefe de Investigación Económica de Banco de Bogotá, detalló que la tasa se calcula como 1,5 veces el interés bancario corriente. “En un contexto de aumento de tasas de interés, el crédito se ha venido encareciendo, lo que eleva ese promedio y, al multiplicarlo por 1,5, se traduce en un incremento de la tasa de usura”, agregó. Pérez advirtió que los hogares deben ser cautelosos al endeudarse.
