Sinabi ni UNPTP secretary-general Cherriegal Maglasang na dapat ayusin ang krisis sa pamamagitan ng "dialogue, action and unity, not noise and conflict." Dagdag niya, "We will not gamble the future of the sector with personal interests. Our fight is for the livelihood, order and future of the country."

Samantala, nagpahayag ng pagkadismaya si Piston national president Mody Floranda sa pahayag ni Energy Secretary Sharon Garin na hindi na babalik sa P60 bawat litro ang presyo ng gasolina. "You are an official but you have that kind of sentiment. It’s evident that you do not have any plans," aniya. Si Valbuena naman ay nagsabing kung hindi ibababa ang presyo, dapat silang magbaba sa puwesto.

Nag-deploy ng pulisya ang Philippine National Police sa ilalim ni chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. sa mga major routes at transport hubs upang protektahan ang mga nagpapatuloy sa serbisyo. Nakikipagtulungan sila sa LTFRB, MMDA, at LGUs. Nanananggap ng karapatan sa protesta ngunit handang kumilos kontra karahasan, ayon sa PNP.
