Walong bus company sa PITX, sinisiyasat sa overcharging

Sinisiyasat ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang walong bus operator sa Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) dahil sa overcharging, habang sinususpinde ng Pangulong Marcos ang pagtaas ng pamasahe. Ipapadala ang show-cause orders sa mga kompanyang ito. Nagbabala ang LTFRB na parusahan ang mga hindi sumusunod sa direktiba.

MANILA, Philippines — Naglabas ng show-cause orders ang LTFRB laban sa Bicol Isarog, RU Diaz, St. Martha, RMB, DLTB, Bicol Magayon, Superlines at JVH dahil sa pagtaas ng pamasahe nang walang pahintulot.

Ayon kay LTFRB Chairman Vigor Mendoza, "Kung hindi sila susunod sa direktiba ng Pangulo, paparusahan sila nang naaayon."

Nagbabala rin ang Department of Transportation na maaaring suspendihin o i-revoke ang franchise ng mga operator na nagtaas ng presyo nang mag-isa. Sinabi ni Jason Salvador, head ng corporate communications at government relations ng PITX sa radyo dzBB, "Naiintindihan natin ang hirap ng mga bus operator, pero ipinagbabawal ang pagtaas ng pamasahe nang mag-isa nila."

Ang aksyong ito ay sumusunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Marcos na suspindihin ang fare hikes.
