Des écoles kenyanes adoptent des cuisinières électriques et solaires pour une cuisine propre

Plusieurs écoles au Kenya ont commencé à utiliser des cuisinières modernes électriques et solaires pour réduire leurs coûts, améliorer la santé et protéger l'environnement.

À l'école musulmane Al-Huda à Majengo, dans le comté de Kajiado, qui compte plus de 820 élèves, le bois de chauffage coûtait auparavant 20 000 shillings par mois. L'enseignant Shaaban Iddi a déclaré que la fumée nuisait à la santé des cuisiniers et retardait la préparation des repas.

L'école utilise désormais des cuisinières électriques et solaires EcoBora. Les repas cuisent plus rapidement et l'environnement de la cuisine est plus propre.

L'école primaire et secondaire PCEA Mama Ngina dans le comté de Kiambu, qui accueille 2 500 élèves, dépensait 300 000 shillings par trimestre en bois de chauffage. La directrice adjointe Rachael Ndune a indiqué que l'école réduit désormais sa consommation de bois et gagne du temps.

EcoBora, une entreprise basée à Nairobi, propose une formation de trois à sept jours. La directrice Joy Kwamboka a déclaré que les écoles peuvent ainsi réduire leurs émissions et réaffecter les économies réalisées à la nutrition des élèves.
