Indetta una protesta contro il progetto Perfect Day a Mahahual

Gruppi ambientalisti hanno indetto una protesta pacifica davanti al Ministero dell'Ambiente a Città del Messico per difendere Mahahual dal progetto Perfect Day di Royal Caribbean. La manifestazione è prevista per giovedì 21 maggio alle ore 9:00.

L'appello è stato lanciato dal gruppo Sélvame. I partecipanti intendono riunirsi presso Ejército Nacional 223, colonia Anáhuac, per sollecitare le autorità a bloccare la costruzione del parco a tema. La presidente Claudia Sheinbaum ha confermato che la Semarnat sta indagando sul progetto. Ha dichiarato di aver chiesto al segretario Alicia Bárcena di esaminare i piani nel dettaglio per prevenire qualsiasi danno all'ecosistema. Sheinbaum ha affermato che il suo governo dà priorità alla tutela dell'ambiente rispetto agli interessi economici privati. Anche Greenpeace ha espresso la propria opposizione attraverso una campagna di raccolta firme e uno striscione al Palacio de Bellas Artes.
