香港政府は、元警務処副処長の袁旭健氏を食物環境衛生署長に任命した。
袁旭健氏は、37年以上にわたる香港警察での勤務を経て退職後、火曜日に同職に就任する。1986年に警部補として警察に入り、刑事情報、重大犯罪、三合会対策、商事犯罪の専門知識を有し、警務処副処長（行動担当）まで昇進した。
今回の人事は、2月に公募が行われた2つの高官ポストのうちの1つを埋めるものとなる。政府広報処長を含む両ポストは、現在進められている公務員改革の一環として、いずれも警察出身者が就任することとなった。
