한화에어로스페이스는 대전 공장에서 발생한 폭발 사고로 5명이 사망하고 2명이 부상한 후 공장 운영을 부분 중단했다고 밝혔다.
화요일 발표된 규제 제출 자료에 따르면 노동 당국은 산업 안전법에 따라 대전 시설의 가동을 중단하라고 명령했다. 공장은 서울에서 남쪽으로 약 140킬로미터 떨어져 있으며 추진 시스템 생산에 사용된다.
폭발 당시 근로자들은 추진 시스템 생산에 사용되는 도구에서 추진제 분말 잔여물을 청소하고 있었다. 경찰과 소방, 국립과학수사연구원, 고용노동부 관계자들이 공동 조사를 시작했다.
국방부 산하 방위사업청은 사고 원인 규명을 위해 기술 지원을 제공할 것이라고 밝혔다. 안규백 국방부 장관은 희생자와 유가족에게 애도를 표하고 철저한 조사를 약속했다.
해당 생산 라인은 지난해 1조 3천200억 원의 매출을 올렸으며 이는 한화에어로스페이스 총 매출의 4.94퍼센트를 차지한다.
