엔진은 프랑스 Safran S.A.가 개발했으며 한화에어로스페이스가 국내에서 생산했다. 한화에어로스페이스는 조립 과정이 원 제조사 요구사항에 부합했다고 밝혔다.
미론 헬기는 노후한 500MD와 AH-1S 코브라 헬기를 대체하기 위해 도입됐다. 군은 2031년까지 약 160대를 운용할 계획이다. 국방조달청은 품질 관리 시스템을 점검하고 개선할 예정이다.
