한화그룹이 2040년까지 항공우주와 인공지능 분야에 55조 원을 투자하겠다고 발표했다. 이번 투자는 발사체, 위성, AI 데이터센터 개발을 목표로 한다.
한화그룹 김동관 부회장은 7월 3일 진주에서 열린 브리핑에서 이 같은 로드맵을 밝혔다. 이 계획은 정부의 대규모 AI·첨단산업 투자 유치 프로젝트의 일환으로 추진된다.
한화에어로스페이스는 우주 발사체와 조립시설, 시험 인프라에 약 23조 원을 투입한다. 또 다른 20조 원은 초저궤도 합성개구레이다 위성과 우주 AI 데이터센터, 저궤도 위성통신망 구축에 배정된다.
한화시스템은 2031년까지 64기의 SAR 위성을 발사·운영할 예정이다. 방위 AI 데이터센터는 창원에 올해 45메가와트 규모로 가동을 시작해 2032년까지 135메가와트로 확대된다.
