이 대통령은 “공공 부문이 안전을 선도해야 하는데 이런 사고는 특히 심각하다”며 “기관들은 진상을 신속히 밝히고 책임자를 직위 고하를 막론하고 엄중히 처벌하라”고 말했다. 그는 “돈이 생명보다 더 소중할 수 없다”고 강조했다.
노동부는 이날 서울시의 신청을 받아 조건부로 철거 재개를 승인했다. 서울시는 금요일 자정부터 비상 철거 작업을 시작할 예정이다. 사고 당시 근로자들이 안전 장비를 착용하지 않은 것으로 확인됐다.
