이 대통령은 7월 4일 X에 올린 글에서 "프로젝트가 지지율 관리를 위한 것이었다면 6월 3일 지방선거 전에 발표됐을 것"이라고 말했다. 그는 이런 국가 변혁 계획은 자신이 취임 전부터 오랫동안 꿈꿔온 것이라고 덧붙였다.
정부는 반도체, 물리 인공지능(AI), AI 데이터센터를 중심으로 한 세 가지 메가프로젝트를 발표했다. 총 투자 규모는 4,755조 원에 달하며 삼성과 SK하이닉스가 각각 광주와 전라 지역에 반도체 공장을 건설할 계획이다.
이 대통령은 "사람들의 삶을 개선하는 가시적인 결과가 더 중요하다"며 젊은이들에게 희망과 활력을 주기 위해 최선을 다하겠다고 강조했다.
