The Jakarta provincial government has begun dismantling 109 abandoned monorail poles along Jalan HR Rasuna Said in South Jakarta on Wednesday morning. Governor Pramono Anung targets completion by September 2026, followed by area improvements costing Rp102 billion. PT Adhi Karya requests a legal solution for asset disposal.

On Wednesday morning at 09:15 WIB, the DKI Jakarta Public Works Department began dismantling abandoned monorail poles along Jalan HR Rasuna Said. Governor Pramono Anung stated the priority is this area, targeting completion by September 2026. "Now, we prioritize what's here (Rasuna Said). Hopefully, it's done by September," Pramono said when met in South Jakarta.

The dismantling occurs at night from 23:00 to 05:00 WIB to avoid traffic disruptions, with one pole per night. Head of Transportation Department Syafrin Liputo explained, "For the dismantling, we start at 23:00 until 05:00 WIB." There are no full road closures, only gradual diversions on the slow lane. The budget for dismantling the 109 poles is Rp254 million, while follow-up improvements including parks, pedestrian paths, and drains require Rp102 billion.

After Rasuna Said, similar dismantling is planned in Senayan, though some poles will be left for videotron or billboards. "In Senayan, we will definitely dismantle some, but some will be left for videotron and such for advertising," Pramono said.

PT Adhi Karya, the monorail project contractor, stated the poles are recorded as its assets based on the South Jakarta District Court decision from 2012 and Jamdatun legal opinion from 2017. Corporate Secretary Rozi Sparta emphasized the need for guidance from independent bodies like JAMDATUN/BPKP for asset disposal solutions. "ADHI also supports the policies and strategic steps taken by the Jakarta Provincial Government in resolving the monorail pole issue," Rozi said. The move is expected to reduce congestion and beautify the area.
