Mobigames vd lovar att strida mot förnyat varumärkeskrav för Edge

Mobigame planerar att utmana ett nytt varumärkeskrav från Edge Games vd Tim Langdell gällande ordet Edge. Den mobila spelstudion avser att hålla tvisten offentlig och dokumentera fallet fullt ut.

Mobigames vd David Papazian uppgav att företaget har haft med Langdell att göra i mer än 17 år. Han beskrev Langdell som ett varumärkestroll och sade att Mobigame kommer att söka full ersättning om bevisen stöder deras ståndpunkt.

Det aktuella kravet rör en tidigare mobilversion av spelet Bobby Bearing från 1986. Papazian påpekade skillnader i distribution mellan regioner och planerar att kontakta den ursprungliga skaparen för att få dennes vittnesmål.

Langdell lyckades tidigare få Mobigames spel Edge borttaget från appbutiker 2009. Den tidigare tvisten avslutades 2010 efter en förlikning som involverade Electronic Arts och Mirror's Edge.

Mobigame är nu finansiellt starkare och avser att genomföra en dokumentutväxling istället för att nå en privat förlikning.
