Renu Bhatia reichte ihren Rücktritt in einem Schreiben an den Chief Minister ein. Sie erklärte, dass sie über vier Jahre lang ehrlich und engagiert als Vorsitzende gedient habe. Der Rücktritt erfolgte, nachdem Pflegekräfte gegen ihre Kommentare protestiert hatten, die sie während einer Inspektion am 7. Juni im Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Civil Hospital in Kurukshetra geäußert hatte. Die Nursing Officers Welfare Association Haryana hatte mit Streiks am 10. und 11. Juni gedroht. Ihre Amtszeit war von weiteren Kontroversen begleitet, darunter eine polizeiliche Anzeige gegen den Professor der Ashoka University, Ali Khan Mahmudabad, sowie Maßnahmen bezüglich eines Liedes des Rappers Badshah.
